Browsing through some old photos and trying to re-edit some of them. Trying to make my night worth while before sleeping. Here’s a beauty shot of Daphne taken a long time ago. I can’t seem to remember when and I’m too lazy to check the date from the RAW file.
Goodnight Tumblr!
During my basic workshop last weekend, a student of mine asked me why I prefer using natural light over strobes……
And this is the reason why.

Jomie’s Headshot
This photo looks a bit over-processed but the thing is, I’ve only retouched the white background in this image because of some visible creases. Also, I’ve slightly adjusted curves in Photoshop then added my watermark on the side. That’s basically it! The model was flawless, the makeup artist was exceptional, direction and styling was superb!
The elements for really good beauty shots are: Good lighting, Beautiful Model, A really talented Hair & Makeup Artist, and an amazing director which I all have during this shoot. Thanks to all of them for this wonderful output.

This was the last project I did for Hinge Inquirer Publications before I was hired to be their in-house photographer. I was asked to do a beauty / fashion shoot for Northern Living and Southern Living Magazine.
I was lazy that day and all I brought with me was my camera, one softbox, 2 speedlights a reflector and one hell of a sleepy assistant who even gave me a headache right even before the shoot started (he did a good job though during the shoot). Fortunate enough, I was surrounded by such great talents on that day and the shoot went well according to my liking.
Just a thought: You don’t always need to have the best equipment in the world to pull out a successful shoot so don’t make it an excuse if you don’t have any.
