Okay, for those of you asking for some shots coming from my Canon 60D. Here are some few sample unedited photos for you. I took some test shots a week ago in Bonifacio High Street, Taguig after my coverage shoot for the new park they opened in The Fort.  These are long exposure shots using the 60D accompanied by the Canon 24mm f/2.8 lens.

These are all shot in JPEG Fine with no editing done.  Straight out of camera.  I only added my watermark to the images and that’s it.  As I said in my previous post, the image quality of the Canon is superb! The only thing I hate the most is its focusing IQ.  I shot the images using a tripod to make the camera stable enough for long exposures.  The tilty screen of the 60D was really useful specially for low and high angle shooting.  The built in leveling meter was also handy for composing shots.

I’ve been shooting for 2 weeks using the camera and until now, I still don’t feel at home with its controls.  Adjusting to a new system is really difficult for me I guess.

All I know is that images that came out of this canon are really great even at high ISO. That’s enough reason for me to use it.

What do you guys think of the images?

Grass Field
Growing up in the city, you don’t see much greenery around you.  I remember stopping at the top of rural Montalban just to take this picture where we drove at grassy fields, rough roads and dirt.  No sign of modern roads or anything like that. During that moment, I imagined a life different from what I have right now.  What if I grew up living on the mountains where everything is so peaceful, everything is so quiet, breathing the fresh air coming from the woods. I took this to remind me of the things that some people don’t even know exists. Too bad, the city is all I’ve got.  Cheers to my unconscious mind rambling.

'normal' does not equal good

When you must walk away from here
Want to throw everything aside
Leave everyone alone
Just run from them, and hide

But you can’t really do that,
Maybe because the world is round
You can’t just walk another step
You can’t fall from the ground

Some will try to kill themselves
Others will try another way
But you know better than all of them
It’s just another normal day

have you ever had that feeling that someone’s there with you even though they’ve died?

I watched the day fade into night
The moon rose up and shown so bright
The grass whispered in the wind
As you reached to grab my hand
I will remember that cold, sweet feeling
That faded with you as I stayed kneeling

While waiting for Kikai in Makati, I went to the park near her office and took some snaps.  I think this is the only part in Makati where you can see lots of trees and grass. However, for this shot I opted to show the greenery that this park has to offer, instead, this is a how it looks like in Infrared black and white.
It’s odd that I find the black thing hanging from the tree interesting.  So I didn’t bother removing it while processing.
